In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing quotations, sales, site management, and the coordination of daily operations across a portfolio of HVAC projects. About the Role
Reporting to the Contracting Manager, the Project Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity. This position demands a deep understanding of, and steadfast commitment to, the company's policies, procedures, and core values.
A key responsibility of the Project Manager is to lead the consistent application and enforcement of high standards across all aspects of safety, quality, environmental compliance, and operational performance. This involves the proactive identification and assessment of risks or issues, and the timely implementation of effective management strategies to mitigate them.
Duties:
Preparation of quotations and tender documents
Sales closure to ensure sales and profitability budget is achieved
Identification and actioning of project variations
Project Management of a portfolio of projects
Developing new and existing customer relationships;
Proactive, reactive and prompt attendance to urgent matters pertaining to quality, safety, environmental and service delivery;
Management of the site project completion and hand over activities
Back up to other staff within the department as required, particularly during leave periods
Delivery of quality works and service resulting from effective and well considered project sequencing and management of resources, including sub-contractors, suppliers and employees
Review the activities of technical or field employees and sub-contractors and offer direction as appropriate
Site inspections and audits
Other cognate duties as required for operational reasons and / or to broaden the worker's overall skills base and experience; including utilisation within other areas in the business such as technical hands on' field work, office or workshop duties.
Skills and experience:
A commitment to outstanding and uncompromising safety standards, service excellence, quality and environmental stewardship and adherence to the requirements, policies, procedures and work instructions etc. that describe expectations
Able to effectively communicate with all levels of internal and external workers, clients, suppliers and stakeholders
Sound analytical skills with the ability to make thoughtful and well considered decisions
Trade qualifications in refrigeration coupled with: extensive industry experience; advanced technical skills to a commercial / industrial standard across all facets of HVAC, including the ability to ready schematic drawings, interpret plans and understand control strategies
A minimum safety qualification of Certificate IV in OHS or WHS or equivalent, or working towards such
Thorough understanding of the roles and responsibilities of various trades involved in the servicing process
A minimum management qualification of Certificate IV in Management or equivalent qualification or working towards such, or alternatively the equivalent demonstrated skill, knowledge and ability
Hold and maintain all necessary trade or training licenses and driver's license (must have ability to drive manual vehicle and tow a trailer) as deemed required
Able to work the hours necessary (i.e. reasonable flexibility) to fulfill the requirements of the position
